Hoshiarpur- Punjab is currently struggling with the scourge of terrible floods. Along with the huge financial loss that will never be recovered, the precious lives of the people have also been lost to the floods. People are having to make their own efforts to save themselves.
The trawls and machines of the sand mafia, which are run over by the government, have crushed and killed hundreds of people, but now instead of helping the people, they have parked the trawls under the sheds. The government is playing a cruel joke by giving packets of lassi worth Rs 5 and grains worth Rs 2 per kilo as relief material.
Talwinder Singh Heer, leader of Bhaqi Ekta Ugrahan, Nangal Khiladi, objected and said that the central and state governments have not yet announced any relief fund for the rehabilitation of the affected people. Social workers and religious organizations are making every possible effort to help the victims.
But the leaders of the governments and opposition parties, except for one or two, are only baking political bread. They do not have the time and means to share the pain of the people. The rulers holding responsible positions of the country are busy with tours and excursions.
The administrative officers and the police forces are always ready to lathicharge the people on the behest of the governments. Now there is no readiness from them. Those living in houses and ships can never feel the pain of displacement. Let us all together make efforts to help our victims and prevent loss of life and property.
