SAS Nagar, February 21, 2025: The 39th Annual Sports Meet of Shaheed Major Harminderpal Singh (Shaurya Chakra) Government College Mohali was successfully held on February 21, 2025, reflecting the spirit of sportsmanship and healthy competition.
Under the able leadership of Principal Prof. Gurinderjit Kaur, the event was graced by the presence of Chief Guest MLA Kulwant Singh in his address, emphasizing the importance of discipline, teamwork and perseverance. Principal Prof. Gurinderjit Kaur in her inaugural address emphasized the importance of sports in shaping the character and personality of students and praised the efforts of all the participants, volunteers and faculty members in making the event a success.
The event included a wide range of competitive track and field activities including 100m race, 200m race, 400m race, 800m race, 1500m race, 5000m race, long jump, shot put, discus throw, javelin throw, slow cycling and exciting three-legged races.
The athletes displayed impressive talent, determination and perseverance, leaving the audience spellbound with their performances. The winners of each event displayed remarkable skill and sportsmanship, making both the college and the community proud.
For their outstanding performances, Vishal Kumar B.A. 1st Year and Babita B.A. 3rd Year were awarded the titles of Best Male Athlete and Best Female Athlete respectively.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Vice-Principal Prof. Gunjit Kaur. This year’s sports meet was a great success, leaving a lasting impression on all present and further strengthening the bond between students, teachers and the community.
