
Discussion on prevention of non-communicable diseases in meetings of rural health committees
SAS Nagar 21 February 2025: Meetings of rural health, sanitation and nutrition committees were organized in various villages today under the leadership of the District Health Department, in which discussions were held to make the recently launched non-communicable disease prevention campaign and tuberculosis eradication campaign successful.

Civil Surgeon Dr. Sangeeta Jain said that during the meetings, the health department employees told the people present that the Health and Family Welfare Department has started a special NCD campaign at the national level. The campaign has been launched and it will run from 20 February to 31 March.
Under this campaign, camps are being organized at Ayushman Arogya Mandirs and other government health institutions, in which every person above 30 years of age is being examined for non-communicable diseases like blood pressure, diabetes, general cancer etc. The committee members were appealed to tell their acquaintances, relatives, friends etc. about this campaign and contribute to make the campaign successful.
Also, information was given about the 100-day campaign launched for the complete eradication of tuberculosis. It was told that the government has set a target of eliminating tuberculosis by the end of 2025. If any person has cough for more than three weeks, then he should get tested for tuberculosis at any nearest government health center, which is completely free.
Dr. Jain also appealed to the people to take maximum advantage of these campaigns and go to the nearest health center and get tested so that diseases can be avoided. It is noteworthy that these committees have been formed in every village under the National Health Mission.
The purpose of which is to create awareness about health care programs for the village, implement health schemes more effectively, make the village better by discussing the eradication of health problems, diseases etc. of the people of the village. Panchayat members, school teachers, VHS NC members, Anganwadi workers, Asha workers, volunteers etc. were present in the meetings.
