Make the youth helpful friends of the victims- Manmohan Singh

Patiala- Following the orders of Punjab Health Minister Dr. Balbir Singh and Deputy Commissioner Patiala, educational institutions are conducting training and mock drills through subject experts to make their students and teachers helpful friends who save precious lives and properties during war, natural or human disasters.

This view was expressed by Manmohan Singh, Principal of Government ITTI Mahila, while expressing gratitude during the training and mock drill conducted under the leadership of District Commander of Punjab Home Guard Civil Defence Gurlavdeep Singh, following the orders of the Punjab Government.
Disaster Management, Civil Defence First Aid, Fire Safety Instructor of Government of India, Mr. Kaka Ram Verma and Assistant Nodal Officer of Patiala Civil Defence Tarjinder Singh told that due to the explosion of bombs and missiles during war, poisonous gases, smoke, bright light, incendiary heat and terrible noise occur in the area, the functioning of breath, heart and brain stops and instant deaths occur.
They told the ways to survive in such situations. They gave training on sounding the alarm siren, lying down properly on the ground, avoiding gases, smoke, noise and unconsciousness, heart attack, cardiac arrest, ventilator artificial respiration, CPR, stopping flowing blood, removing gases, smoke, water, blood, vomit, foam etc. from the windpipe.
Dr. Charu Gautam of Punjab Red Cross De-Drug Integration Center gave information about the Red Cross symbol, flag, Red Cross Geneva Convention, protection of prisoners of war and first aid to the victims during wars and disasters. According to the Geneva Convention, soldiers of any country and even terrorists do not attack places or volunteers with the Red Cross symbol on the basis of humanity. Because Red Cross helps the victims without any discrimination on the basis of humanity.
Program coordinator teacher trainer Ekampreet Kaur thanked and said that every student, teacher, citizen, employee should take training on disaster management, civil/self-defense, first aid, fire safety and become a volunteer of civil defense. This information is reaching every home through trained students and teachers. Everyone prayed for peace and harmony in the community.
