Shri Vasudev Devnani releases Kids, Air and Green Mahakumbh: A Magical Cultural Travel Booklet to promote environmental conservation and cultural heritage.

Chandigarh, January 25, 2025- Speaker of Rajasthan Legislative Assembly Shri Vasudev Devnani released Kids, Air and Green Mahakumbh: A Magical Cultural Travel Booklet during National Environment Youth Parliament 2025 organised by Student for Development and Environment Conservation Activity at Rajasthan Vidhansabha, Jaipur today on 24th January 2025.

Chandigarh, January 25, 2025- Speaker of Rajasthan Legislative Assembly Shri Vasudev Devnani released Kids, Air and Green Mahakumbh: A Magical Cultural Travel Booklet during National Environment Youth Parliament 2025 organised by Student for Development and Environment Conservation Activity at Rajasthan Vidhansabha, Jaipur today on 24th January 2025. This comic booklet has been prepared with the aim to educate children about the significance of Mahakumbh festival and the importance of environmental conservation. The booklet has been authored by Aditya Khaiwal, a class 8 student of Ankur School, Chandigarh and Lakshya Khaiwal, a B.Tech student of University Institute of Engineering and Technology, Punjab University.
During the release, Shri Devnani highlighted the innovative approach of this educational tool which focuses on the Green Maha Kumbh initiative, which includes various green initiatives such as mass tree plantation, climate action and Ek Thela Ek Thali. Additionally, the booklet highlights the rich cultural heritage and spiritual beliefs associated with the Maha Kumbh festival. Shri Devnani said that this booklet will inculcate a sense of environmental awareness in young minds, while also celebrating the cultural and spiritual heritage of India.
Shri Devnani further added that educating children through comics is a powerful medium as it has the potential to have a long-term impact. He added that children will have an understanding of the important role of nature in our lives and how they can contribute to the preservation of the environment for a sustainable future. Shri Devnani mentioned that the booklet weaves together the themes of climate change mitigation, tree planting and cultural practices, which presents the Maha Kumbh festival not only as an important spiritual event but also as an event that encourages environmental consciousness.
Dr. Suman Mor, Professor, Department of Environmental Studies, Panjab University and Dr. Ravindra Khaiwal, Professor, School of Community Medicine and Public Health, PGIMER, Chandigarh, who served as mentors to the authors, expressed pride in the booklet. They said that the booklet encourages children to become active participants in environmental conservation efforts, emphasising the importance of collective action to create a greener and healthier planet. Both professors emphasised that the comic’s focus on values such as unity, peace and sustainability is in line with the broader vision of a cleaner, more sustainable India.
