SAS Nagar, February 15, 2025: In his endeavour to convert the traditional beat boxes into modern ones, SSP Deepak Pareek on Saturday launched modern police beat boxes on Airport Road in the presence of SP (headquarters) Harinder Singh Mann and DSP (traffic) Karnail Singh.
He said the move was aimed at giving these beat boxes a new look with updated infrastructure like CCTV cameras and flashing lights and to make access to policing easier. Besides, these beat boxes would also be beneficial for the policemen on duty. He said the beat boxes would also be equipped with running LEDs soon.
SSP Pareek further said this is the second modern beat box installed today, earlier the first beat box at Majri was inaugurated a few days ago by Deputy Inspector General of Police, Ropar Range, Harcharan Singh Bhullar. He said such modern beat boxes with new looks would also be installed at Chhatt Lights, Airport Chowk and Zirakpur soon.
He said the CCTV cameras installed in these beat boxes would prove helpful in handling accident cases, besides checking traffic violations and keeping a close watch on miscreants. He said in the coming days, there would be such booths all over Mohali to enhance police surveillance in the district.
