
Traffic Police organised awareness seminar on staying away from drugs and following traffic rules at Government Girls Senior Secondary School, Kurali
Kharar/SAS Nagar 06 February, 2025: As part of the campaign against drugs and awareness of traffic rules run by the traffic wing of District Police under the leadership of SSP Deepak Pareek and SP (Traffic) Harinder Singh Mann, Karnail Singh, Deputy Captain along with Police Traffic Incharge Traffic Kurali today organised a special seminar at Government Girls Senior Secondary School, Kurali (District SAS Nagar) to make students aware about the ill effects of drugs and the importance of following traffic rules.
Kharar/SAS Nagar 06 February, 2025: As part of the campaign against drugs and awareness of traffic rules run by the traffic wing of District Police under the leadership of SSP Deepak Pareek and SP (Traffic) Harinder Singh Mann, Karnail Singh, Deputy Captain along with Police Traffic Incharge Traffic Kurali today organised a special seminar at Government Girls Senior Secondary School, Kurali (District SAS Nagar) to make students aware about the ill effects of drugs and the importance of following traffic rules.
The main objective of this seminar was to make school students aware about the ill effects of drugs, the importance of following traffic rules and to motivate them for sports. During this seminar, school girls were made aware that children have been given drugs in college, so be careful of such people while going to college. Along with this, the students were also told that under section 199A of the Motor Vehicle Act, if a child below the age of 18 drives a vehicle, then his parents can be imprisoned for 3 years, fined up to Rs 25,000 and the person giving the vehicle to a child below the age of 18 can also be imprisoned for 3 years or fined.
If you do not give way to an emergency vehicle (ambulance, fire brigade etc.), then action will be taken under section 194E of the Motor Vehicle Act, under which a fine of Rs 10,000 or a sentence of up to 6 months can be imposed. Along with this, the students were told that if a person helps an accident victim, then he will be given Rs 2000 by the government (under the Farishte Yojana). People were appealed that if you have given any of your flats or houses on rent, then definitely get the police verification of your tenants done. On this occasion, Principal Charanjit Kaur, Lecturer Rupinder Singh, Harpal Singh, Dalbir Singh, Gurinder Kaur, Harjit Kaur, Balbir Kaur, Satwinder Kaur, Jagroop Kaur and other staff of Government Girls Senior Secondary School, Kurali thanked the traffic wing of District Police for organizing this awareness seminar. In the end, Deputy Superintendent of Police Traffic Mr. Karnail Singh motivated all the students for sports.
Apart from this, all the students were explained that they should also tell their family members about the learnings received from this seminar and make their family members aware about not driving after drinking alcohol and not driving at high speed and motivate them to follow traffic rules.
