Restrictions on going near Choa/Rivers

Hoshiarpur- Considering the rainy season and the forecast of heavy rain by the Meteorological Department, the water level in Choa/Rivers of Hoshiarpur district is expected to rise. Many people gather in rivers and choas for bathing, bathing animals or shooting videos, due to which many unpleasant incidents have taken place.

Many people gather in rivers and choas for bathing, bathing animals or shooting videos, due to which many unpleasant incidents have taken place.
Considering the seriousness of this situation and the safety of the common people, Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Magistrate Ashika Jain has issued an order in exercise of powers vested in her under Section 163 of the Indian Civil Protection Code 2023 that no person shall go near Choa/River. 
Apart from this, no person shall take his animals near Choa/River. All citizens are also advised to keep their pets away from these water sources. This order will remain in effect until September 8, 2025.
