New Delhi, May 19 - Congress leader Rahul Gandhi today launched a fresh attack on External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar, saying that Jaishankar's 'silence' on the number of Indian aircraft damaged during the military clash after informing Pakistan in advance about the military action under Operation Sindoor is 'condemnable'. The Congress leader had earlier targeted the government on this issue as well.
Gandhi had claimed that India had informed Pakistan in advance of military strikes on terror camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK). Gandhi said in a post on X, "The External Affairs Minister's silence is not only telling, it is condemnable.
So I ask once again: How many of our Indian aircraft were damaged because Pakistan knew (about these attacks) in advance?" Gandhi said, "It was not a mistake. It was a crime. And the country deserves the truth.’’
Gandhi had earlier shared an undated video clip of Jaishankar and wrote, “It was a crime to inform Pakistan about this before the start of our attack.
The External Affairs Minister has publicly admitted that the GOI (Government of India) did it.” The Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha had asked, “Who authorised this? How many aircraft did our Air Force lose as a result?” The External Affairs Ministry had termed Gandhi’s claims as “complete misrepresentation.”
