
District administration Una takes strict action against illegal mining, DC-SP conduct surprise raid

Una district administration took strict action by conducting surprise raids in the district on Tuesday in an effort to strictly implement the zero tolerance policy against illegal mining. A joint team led by Deputy Commissioner Jatin Lal took this action in the Swan river area and its surrounding areas on Tuesday.

The team included Superintendent of Police Rakesh Singh and Mining Officer Neeraj Kant, Mining Inspector Pankaj Kumar and SHO Mehtpur Mastram Naik and other officers. The administration also used state-of-the-art drone technology to make its action more accurate and effective and to strictly monitor the mining activities. During this action, 4 tractors and other vehicles were seized in Khanpur, Fatehpur, Santoshgarh and Bathri areas. Further legal action is being taken along with imposing heavy fine on the persons involved in this.
Jatin Lal said that more stringent measures will be taken against illegal mining in future. Sensitive areas will be closely monitored daily with the help of drones and police teams. The Deputy Commissioner said that the Himachal government has a 'zero tolerance' policy on illegal mining. The Una district administration is implementing this policy with full sincerity. We will continue such strict action in all areas. We have given clear instructions that no person involved in such activities will be spared.
He stressed that illegal mining is a serious crime which has widespread ill-effects. It causes irreparable damage to the environment and loss of government revenue, besides destroying the local ecosystem and adversely affecting the groundwater level.
The Deputy Commissioner has requested all the citizens to cooperate in the campaign to make Una free from illegal mining. He appealed to the general public to inform about illegal mining activities. He said that the support, vigilance and cooperation of the public would be useful in completely stopping illegal mining.
Meanwhile, Superintendent of Police Rakesh Singh said that the district police is fully committed to deal with illegal mining. Strict monitoring and strict action is being taken in this, and we will keep a constant eye on it in the future as well. Through drone technology, we will monitor these activities more accurately, so that criminals do not get any chance. Those who play with the law in the district will be dealt with strictly.
