Punjab defeats Bihar in league matches, Chandigarh also wins

Patiala, November 2: Players from 62 teams are showing their talent for the basketball boys and girls under-19 matches of the 68th National School Games 2024-25 being held in Patiala. Tournament observer Ajitpal Gill, who arrived from the School Games Federation of India, praised the grand opening of the tournament and the cultural program and said that the team from Patiala district of Punjab is being hosted well. Principal Vivek Tiwari of DAV School Patiala also reached and blessed the players.

In the National School Games Basketball Boys Under-19, Punjab defeated Bihar by 81-21 points and Uttar Pradesh boys by 66-34 points. Delhi defeated Jammu and Kashmir by 53-28 points. Chandigarh defeated Haryana by a margin of 54-50 points. Meghalaya defeated Odisha by 50-49 points in a close contest. Jharkhand defeated West Bengal by 38-23 points.
Tamil Nadu defeated Gujarat by 90-56 points. CISCE defeated Karnataka by 68-60 points, Andhra Pradesh defeated DAV by 40-36 points, Uttar Pradesh defeated Uttarakhand by 29-09 points, Bihar defeated Uttarakhand by 24-16, Haryana defeated Navodaya Vidyalaya by 60-24 points to win their respective league matches.
In the National School Games Basketball Girls Under-19 league competition, Punjab girls opened their account by defeating Chhattisgarh girls by 47-18 points. Tamil Nadu defeated Navodaya Vidyalaya by 77-17 points. Rajasthan won a one-sided match by 62-01 points while playing a match against Telangana. Kerala defeated Uttarakhand by 60-13 points, Odisha defeated Meghalaya by 36-27 points, Chandigarh defeated Jharkhand by 46-08 points, CISCE defeated West Bengal by 49-15 points, CBSE defeated Madhya Pradesh by 79-56 points, IPSC defeated Delhi by 43-22 points, CISCE defeated Bihar by 59-13 points to win their respective league matches.
