
Chief Minister calls upon people to follow the footsteps of great Gurus, saints, great men, saints, prophets and martyrs for the development and welfare of the state

Addressing the function on the occasion of Jain Bhagwati Diksha Mahotsav here today in the presence of Punjab Governor Gulab Chand Kataria, the Chief Minister said that as the head of the state, it is his duty to protect the interests of all the residents. He said that Punjab is a great and holy land, where people of different religions, languages and all sections of society live in peace and harmony. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that he has been given a big mandate by the people to serve this land and he will leave no stone unturned for this noble cause.
The Chief Minister said, “Different varieties of flowers soothe everyone’s eyes, that is why people are eager to see them. Similarly, harmony and peaceful coexistence of every religion in every society is important for the progress of the country.” Bhagwant Singh Mann said that his government is committed to this noble cause and every possible step is being taken to strengthen communal harmony in the state.
The Chief Minister said that religion teaches us simple life, high thinking and the principle of non-violence to attain salvation through the path of spirituality. He said that the eternal message of every religion is universal brotherhood, fraternity and peace which is still relevant in the context of the present materialistic society. Bhagwant Singh Mann called upon the people to follow the path shown by the great religious leaders to further strengthen the bonds of secular, social and fraternal harmony in the society.
The Chief Minister said that such events related to our great Gurus, Saints and Pirs are of great importance to us as they provide an opportunity to make ourselves and our younger generation aware of our religious and social values which hold the entire humanity in a garland. Calling upon the people to follow the path shown by these spiritual and religious leaders, he said that the AAP government is fully committed to maintaining peace, unity and fraternity in the state. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that the state government is fully dedicated to the welfare of the society and the progress of the state.
Recalling his old association with the Jain community, the Chief Minister said that he has always been blessed with the blessings of the saints of the Jain community. He also announced full support to the community in setting up a state-of-the-art hospital in the area. Bhagwant Singh Mann expressed hope that it would play a leading role in providing quality healthcare services to the people of the entire northern region.
