Among the medal winners, prominently in ISSF Under-17 Air Rifle Girls Ojasvi Thakur from Mohali with a score of 631.9, in ISSF Under-21 Air Pistol Girls Palak Galhotra from Bathinda with a score of 574, NR Under-21; In 50m Prone Girls, Soumya Gupta from Patiala scored 579, in ISSF Under-21, 50m Prone Girls, Pranjali Bansal from Sangrur scored 589, in ISSF Under-21, 50m Prone Girls, Vanshika Shahi from Malerkotla scored 593 and Mehak Jatana scored 571; in ISSF Under-40, 50m Prone Boys, Jagroop Singh from Hoshiarpur scored 585, in ISSF Under-17 Air Rifle Boys, Anshul Batra from Fazilka scored 390, in NR Under-21 Air Rifle Boys, Darshpreet Singh from Mohali scored 391; In ISSF U-21 25m Sports Pistol Boys, Manav Singh from Bathinda won the gold medal by scoring 570, in NR U-21, 10m Air Rifle Girls, Tithi Saraswat Singh from Fazilka won the gold medal by scoring 397.
Pranjali Bansal and Vanshika Shahi made the girls’ name shine in shooting by winning 2 consecutive medals with excellent scores.
The children who won the gold medal will be given Rs. 10 thousand, those who won the silver medal will be given Rs. 7 thousand and those who won the bronze medal will be given Rs. 5 thousand as prizes.
It is worth mentioning that the season-3 boys and girls of these state-level games Watan Punjab were formally inaugurated on November 13 at Shooting Range Phase-6 Mohali. Which was inaugurated by former cabinet minister and MLA from Kharar constituency Anmol Gagan Mann.
District Sports Officer Mohali Rupesh Kumar himself shot 25 meters to encourage the children and motivate them towards sports.
Speaking on the occasion, the District Sports Officer said in his address that the Punjab government is committed to the all-round development of sports. The government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann is making every possible effort to promote sports in the state. So that the youth of Punjab can be kept away from drugs as much as possible and the name of Punjab players can be made famous at the national and international level. He thanked the parents of those players for encouraging the children. He appealed to the parents to motivate as many children as possible towards sports. No matter what sport the child is interested in, he should be guided towards that direction so that the child can have all-round development.
