Maur Mandi/Bathinda- The government is not fighting against drugs, but against those who oppose drugs and those who raise their voice against drugs and those who sell drugs are being harassed at the behest of the government and the police, this allegation was made by senior BJP leader and retired IAS officer Parampal Kaur Sidhu while enquiring about the health of Ranveer Singh, a resident of Bhai Bakhtawar, who was badly injured by drug smugglers at a private hospital in Bathinda.
While talking to journalists after meeting Ranveer Singh's family during treatment, the BJP leader slammed the Punjab government on the issue of drugs.
She said that the government has failed miserably in eliminating drugs from the state. The Goniana incident is also the result of fulfilling its intentions. The police sacrificed a young man to fulfill its intentions, his wife and child are crying for justice. The BJP leader said that the government is not serious on any other issue to end drug abuse. The government has no concrete plan or intention to end drug abuse. Drugs are being sold openly with the help of the government and the police. Bhai Bakhtawar resident Ranveer Singh was also fighting against drug abuse by forming a committee, the way the drug smugglers beat him up, it is not possible without help. People have no hope from the government and are so fed up with the drug smugglers that posters have been put up in Bhai Bakhtawar village that the entire village is for sale.
