Chandigarh- Amid the launch of the expansion of the breakfast scheme by Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin and Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, Delhi Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa criticized Mann, saying that when the entire Punjab was devastated by heavy rains, he had no other work but to loot the people.
Sirsa further said that it was sad and regrettable that the people of Punjab have a Chief Minister who is useless and a looter.
Speaking to ANI, Sirsa said, "The Chief Minister had time and money to go to Tamil Nadu and start the breakfast scheme, while here in his own state people are losing their lives due to floods. People have suffered losses worth billions of rupees.
The entire Punjab has been destroyed and these people have nothing else to do but loot. It is very sad and regrettable that the people of Punjab have made such a Chief Minister, who is useless and is also looting..."
This statement came after Stalin along with Mann launched the expansion of the Chief Minister's Breakfast Scheme for government-aided schools in urban areas. Meanwhile, amid the ongoing flood crisis in Punjab, the government has deployed cabinet ministers in the worst-affected districts to lead relief and rescue operations.
Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann has instructed all ministers to remain in the flood-affected areas until the situation is completely under control.
Finance Minister Advocate Harpal Singh Cheema, while reviewing the situation in detail on a conference call with the Deputy Commissioners of Sangrur and Mansa, said, "Our top priority is to save every life and protect every property. No stone should be left unturned to minimize the hardships faced by the people in the flood-affected areas."
