Patiala, October 24: Dussehra, symbolizing the victory of good over evil, was celebrated with great devotion and enthusiasm in Patiala city. Programs were also organized at Ragho Majra, Urban Estate and SST Nagar and three effigies including the effigy of Ravana were offered fire, but the main program of the city was held at Veer Haqiqat Rai Ground, where Patiala City MLA Ajitpal Singh Kohli was the chief guest. 
The special feature of this event was that the effigies of Ravana, Meghnath and Kumbhkaran were lit from the remote. The effigy of Ravana was 85 feet tall while the effigies of Meghnath and Kumbhakaran were 65-65 feet tall. These effigies have been specially prepared by artisans from Saharanpur.

    Prof. Savinder Singh Rekhi District Sweep Nodal Officer Patiala, Satveer Singh Gill Sweep Nodal Officer Patiala Rural, Dr. Narinder Singh Sweep Nodal Officer Snur and Kuljeet Singh Aulakh Election Kanungo informed the people in the Dussehra Pandal about making new votes, making votes through electronic method and obtaining voter card in view of the Lok Sabha elections to be held in 2024.
He appealed to the people to have maximum participation during the Lok Sabha elections 2024. SVEEP nodal officers also gave information about 1950 toll free number, on this occasion detailed information was given about the importance of voting, online method of voting, voter helpline number and Sea Weasel App. Specially on this occasion, Dr. Balveer Singh Health Minister Punjab reached.
