
Huge crowd gathered in the historic conference on the death anniversary of Sant Longowal; The revived Shiromani Akali Dal is the real heir of the Panth and Punjab.
Chandigarh/Longowal- The crowd gathered in the conference of the revived Shiromani Akali Dal on the occasion of the 40th death anniversary of Sant Harchand Singh Longowal proved that the Panth has rejected the group that rebelled against the orders of Sri Akal Takht Sahib. The crowd gathered in this event made it clear that the Shiromani Akali Dal is the real heir of the Panth and Punjab. During the program, Sant Longowal was remembered by paying floral tribute. The huge presence of the Sangat also proved that the well-wishers of the Panth and Punjab reject the politics of the individual and consider only those who follow the orders of Sri Akal Takht as their leaders. Shiromani Akali Dal President Jathedar Giani Harpreet Singh said in his address that no government at the Center has fulfilled the interests of Punjab.

The demands of the Rajiv-Longowal agreement, such as Punjabi speaking areas, Chandigarh, water rights and autonomy for Punjab, have been ignored. He said that the release of imprisoned Sikhs and the wounds of 1984 have not yet healed. Punjab's agriculture and industry are being harmed. He appealed to all Punjabis to unite for the strength of the regional party.
Sardar Manpreet Singh Ayali said that since the partition of the country, there has been discrimination against Sikhs. Punjabis have been defamed by calling them criminals, whereas Punjabis have made the biggest contribution to the freedom and progress of the country. Former President of Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee Gobind Singh Longowal held Sukhbir Badal responsible for the weakness of the Akali Dal. He said that Sukhbir proved his rebellion by rejecting the Hukamnama of Sri Akal Takht. The Sikh community never accepts such people.
Former MP Sardar Prem Singh Chandumajra said the people of Punjab have great expectations from the leadership of the revived Akali Dal. He recalled Sardar Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa and said he was concerned about the poor state of the party. All Punjabis need to unite for the interests of Punjab. Jathedar Iqbal Singh Jhundan said the Akali Dal has suffered due to personal interests but the new leadership is expected to protect Panthic issues.
Former minister Sardar Parminder Singh Dhindsa said the massive presence of the Sangat has made the decision of the Panth clear. Sardar Surjit Singh Rakhra said the Akali Dal weakened due to the influence of nepotism on the decisions and mistakes of the party. Jathedar Sucha Singh Chotepur said the land of Sangrur has always raised the Panthic flag and ushered in a change in the political equation of the state.
Jathedar Gurpartap Singh Wadala remembered Sant Longowal as a mixture of politics and religion who played a big role in Panthic politics. Sardar Barjinder Singh Makhan Brar said that his father Jathedar Tota Singh often referred to the teachings of Sant Longowal, who stressed on staying firm on religion and duty.
This event proved that the strength of the Shiromani Akali Dal is essential for the interests of the Panth and Punjab. The presence of the Sangat made it clear that those who accept the supremacy of Sri Akal Takht in Panthic politics are the real leaders.
