
Khalsa College Mahilpur organised various competitions for students on the occasion of Science Day
Mahilpur, March 1- The Science Department of Sri Guru Gobind Singh Khalsa College Mahilpur here organised a function in collaboration with the Indian Academy of Sciences (Patiala Chapter) on the occasion of National Science Day celebrated in the memory of Nobel Prize winning scientist Sir C.V. In these competitions, 350 students from 17 schools of the area participated and displayed their talent.
Mahilpur, March 1- The Science Department of Sri Guru Gobind Singh Khalsa College Mahilpur here organised a function in collaboration with the Indian Academy of Sciences (Patiala Chapter) on the occasion of National Science Day celebrated in the memory of Nobel Prize winning scientist Sir C.V. In these competitions, 350 students from 17 schools of the area participated and displayed their talent.
On this occasion, students of the same institute also participated enthusiastically in the college section. Engineer Chandra Shekhar Menon of Germany attended the function as a special guest, while Secretary of Punjab Science Academy Prof. NR Dhamiwal and Executive Member Dr. Niranjan Singh presided over the function and inspired the students to become followers of scientific thinking.
Sharing the welcome words on this occasion, Principal Dr. Parwinder Singh said that the college organizes various science related competitions for the students of schools of the area every year so that the students can also adopt a scientific outlook. Chief guest Engineer Chandra Shekhar Menon congratulated the organizers for such a task and assured all kinds of support to the institution.
On this occasion, in the college category, student Komal got first place in power point presentation on various subjects of science, Navjot got first place in essay writing competition, Sanchita got first place in poster making and Aanchal got first place in rangoli. On this occasion, in the school category, Amarjot Kaur got first place in power point presentation, Srishti got first place in essay writing, Parampreet Kaur got first place in poster presentation, Ramanpreet Kaur got first place in poster making and Kirandeep Kaur got first place in rangoli.
The coordinator of the function Dr. Vikrant Rana and co-coordinator Dr. Aarti Sharma expressed their gratitude. On this occasion, Sikh Educational Council officials Virendra Sharma, Vice Principal Aradhana Duggal, retired Professor Sarwan Singh, Professor Gurpreet Kaur, Dr. Pratibha Chauhan, Professor Navdeep Kaur, Professor Sukhwinder Kaur and all the staff and students of the Science Department were present.
