Announcement of 'dry day' regarding voting and counting

Una, 28 May - District Election Officer Deputy Commissioner Jatin Lal said that in view of the Lok Sabha general elections and 2 assembly by-elections to be held on June 1 in Una district, there is no ban on sale of any kind of intoxicants like liquor etc. in hotels, dhabas, shops or other public and private places in the district.

Una, 28 May - District Election Officer Deputy Commissioner Jatin Lal said that in view of the Lok Sabha general elections and 2 assembly by-elections to be held on June 1 in Una district, there is no ban on sale of any kind of intoxicants like liquor etc. in hotels, dhabas, shops or other public and private places in the district. There will be a ban on sale and distribution. Apart from this, there will be a 'dry day' in the district on June 4, the day of counting. He said that the State Tax and Excise Commissioner has issued orders in this regard, so that free, peaceful and smooth execution of the election process can be ensured.
Giving information, Jatin Lal said that in view of the elections, this restriction will be applicable 48 hours before voting, i.e. from 6 pm on May 30 to 6 pm on June 1. Apart from this, the said restriction will be applicable till the completion of the process of counting of votes on June 4.
Strict legal action will be taken against those who disobey the orders.
