
‘Book release’ held in Hindi department

Chandigarh October 18, 2024 - Hindi Department, Punjab University, Chandigarh organized the launch and discussion program of the latest published novel 'Amavasya Mein Khila Chand' by litterateur Lajpat Rai Garg.
At the beginning of the program, the Head of the Department, Prof. Ashok Kumar, formally welcomed all the guests and speakers and honored them with a bouquet and a gift. At the beginning of the book discussion, the first speaker Pawan Sharma said about this novel that this novel freely expresses its views on the evils and evils of our society and also seems to point towards their elimination.
Discussing this book, researcher Rahul said that the specialty of this novel is that its title has the ability to explain it. 'Amavasya Mein Khila Chand' is the story of every student and researcher like me. The self-experience with which the author has created the university life is capable of establishing a connection with every person who has lived it.
In the program, the Head of the Department of Philosophy, Dr. Pankaj Srivastava, while presenting his views as the keynote speaker, said that the characters of the novel are straight and flat, i.e. black and white, although life is grey, it has many layers. He said that this novel is the fabric of the relationships of the present time. The novelist has pointed towards the complexities of relationships.
Along with this, senior litterateurs of Chandigarh, Prem Vij, Professor Rajesh Jaiswal discussed the role of literature through this novel.
Novelist Lajpat Rai Garg thanked all the speakers and said that I have been associated with this department for the last fifty years. He said that his justification for writing the novel is for the welfare of his relatives. Through all his novels, he has tried to present solutions along with exposing the social anomalies. This novel takes us from grossness to subtlety. He also highlighted the achievements of the novel.
In the end, the Head of the Department, Prof. Ashok Kumar thanked all the guests, speakers and listeners and said that many such programs will be organized in the department in future. In such programmes our aim is to discuss the work and not the author and we have succeeded in this aim.
