800 People Participate in Walkathon on World Hypertension Day

Amritsar: On the occasion of World Hypertension Day, over 800 people from various age groups—including healthcare professionals and fitness enthusiasts—participated in the ‘Livathon’ walkathon held at Company Bagh on Sunday. Amritsar Mayor Jatinder Singh Moti Bhatia was the Chief Guest at the event, which was organized by Livasa Hospital, Amritsar.
On this occasion, yoga sessions, Zumba, and recreational games were organized, alongside a facility for free blood pressure check-ups provided by Livasa.
Anurag Yadav, CEO of Livasa Hospitals, stated that the objective of ‘Livathon’ was to highlight the importance of regular exercise, timely health check-ups, and lifestyle modifications in the prevention of hypertension.
Facility Director Dr. Rajiv Kundra remarked that hypertension is one of the leading lifestyle-related health issues today, and awareness serves as the first step toward its prevention.
"Through ‘Livathon,’ we aimed to create a platform that inspires people to adopt healthy habits and understand the significance of cardiovascular health."
