Hoshiarpur: A seven-day Faculty Development Program themed "Transforming Higher Education through Emerging Technologies and Skill-Based Learning" kicked off at Lamrin Tech Skills University (LTSU), Punjab, with great enthusiasm and academic fervor.
The inaugural session commenced with the traditional lighting of the lamp, symbolizing knowledge and the pursuit of wisdom. The program was formally inaugurated by Dr. B.S. Satyal, Pro-Vice-Chancellor of LTSU, who emphasized the need for educational institutions to adopt technological advancements and skill-based learning models to prepare students for the demands of the future workforce.
The first session was conducted by Dr. A.S. Chawla, Vice-Chancellor of LTSU, on the topic "Leadership in Turbulent Times." Drawing upon his extensive leadership experience, Dr. Chawla discussed the challenges and opportunities facing educational leaders in a rapidly changing world. He highlighted adaptive leadership, resilience, innovation, and strategic decision-making as key qualities essential for navigating uncertainty and driving institutional excellence.
The second session, moderated by Dr. Jatinder Goswami, was titled "Am I an Educationist?" This thought-provoking session encouraged faculty members to reflect on their professional identity, responsibilities, and impact as educators. He emphasized the transformative role teachers play in shaping learners, fostering critical thinking, and contributing to nation-building.
The third session was led by Dr. Jatinder Singh Gill on the topic "Role of Teachers in Extension Activities." He underscored the importance of community engagement, outreach initiatives, and social responsibility within higher education. Dr. Gill explained how extension activities bridge the gap between academia and society, enabling institutions to create meaningful and sustainable social impact.
The week-long FDP will continue with a series of expert lectures, workshops, and interactive sessions focusing on emerging technologies, quality enhancement, innovation, and skill-based education.
