60magnitude earthquake hits Chinas Xinjiang region

Beijing: An earthquake measuring 6.0 on the Richter scale has been recorded in China's northwestern region of Xinjiang, which shares a border with Kyrgyzstan. According to the China Earthquake Networks Center, the earthquake struck near Aki County, near the Kyrgyzstan-Xinjiang border, at 3:44 p.m. local time (0744 GMT), with its epicenter at a depth of 10 kilometers (6.2 miles).
State media reported that as of 4:34 p.m. local time, local authorities had not received any reports of casualties or building collapses. In addition, transportation, electricity and telecommunications services in the county were operating normally.
