35 Crore Canal Water Pipeline Project Launched in Village Ladda
Dhuri, May 17:- Chairman of the Punjab Small Industries and Export Corporation, Dalvir Singh Dhillon, on Saturday inaugurated a major canal water infrastructure project in village Ladda, falling under the Dhuri Assembly constituency. The launch was attended by a large gathering of farmers and local residents.
The project, being executed at a cost of approximately ?3.5 crore, involves the laying of a 25-kilometre-long underground pipeline network. In addition, five water outlets (moghas) will be installed to ensure streamlined and timely supply of canal water to agricultural fields.
Highlighting the state government’s commitment, Dhillon said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, ensuring irrigation access to every field remains a top priority. “The vision is clear—no field should remain deprived of water,” he stated.
He emphasized that the underground pipeline system will play a crucial role in reducing water wastage and ensuring equitable distribution, thereby strengthening the irrigation network in the region. The project is expected to significantly ease irrigation challenges faced by farmers.
Upon completion, the initiative will directly benefit hundreds of acres of farmland, boosting agricultural productivity and contributing to higher farm incomes.
Residents of the area expressed their appreciation for the initiative, stating that the project will serve as a long-term solution to irrigation issues and bring substantial relief to the farming community.
