2 Drug Cases Registered Two Accused Arrested Under AntiDrug Campaign in Moonak SubDivision
Moonak, August 2:- Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Dr. Ravjot Grewal informed the media that as part of the “War Against Drugs” and “Village Guardians” campaigns, the Moonak Sub-Division Police carried out a special drive from July 27 to August 2, 2026, during which two cases under the NDPS Act were registered and two accused were arrested. A total of 55 intoxicating tablets were recovered from their possession.
The SSP further stated that one additional case was registered under the NDPS Act, and one drug addict was admitted to a de-addiction centre. Besides this, 18 individuals struggling with drug addiction were provided medication through de-addiction centres. During the same period, 12 accused were arrested in cases registered under various sections of law.
As part of traffic enforcement, police issued 127 traffic challans against motorists for violating traffic rules. During the checking of suspicious persons, action under Section 172 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS) was initiated against 96 individuals, while preventive action was taken against nine persons.
The police also appealed to the public to actively support the anti-drug campaign. Meetings are being organised with village panchayats, sports clubs, and prominent local residents to spread awareness among the public and youth about the harmful effects of drug abuse, with the aim of eradicating the menace from society.
The SSP said that the police are taking firm action against drug traffickers and anti-social elements and are making sustained efforts to curb the drug menace. He reiterated that the fight against drugs will continue with full determination.
