27th inauguration ceremony of newly elected team of Mohali Press Club completed
Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, July 24:- Chairman of District Traders Commission S. Ranjit Pal Singh attended the 27th inauguration ceremony of Mohali Press Club today and congratulated the newly elected team of the club.
Addressing as the chief guest during the 27th ‘Tajposhi Samagam’ organized by Mohali Press Club at Prachin Kala Kendra in Sector-71, S. Ranjit Pal Singh said that the press is the fourth pillar of democracy and plays an important role in raising the voice of the oppressed. Whatever happens in the society, the media brings it before the people. Therefore, the responsibility of the media is very big.
He said that it is very important for the Press Club to have its own place in Mohali so that people can get easy access to the media. He assured that he will convey this demand of the club to the government. He said that the contribution of the media in the society cannot be forgotten, because the news of the city and the world reaches the people only through the media.
On this occasion, he congratulated the entire team of Mohali Press Club on the inauguration ceremony and assured of providing all possible support to the club.
On this occasion, DPRO Mohali S. Ravinder Singh Makkar and Deputy Mayor of the Municipal Corporation S. Harpal Singh Channa were also present. During this, the souvenir of the club was also released by all the guests in the presence of the governing body. Earlier, the guests were honored with bouquets and mementos. S. Harinder Singh Har played the role of stage secretary during the event.
The General Secretary of the Club S. Sukhdev Singh Patwari congratulated the Chairman S. Ranjit Pal Singh, DPRO S. Welcoming the guests, Mr. Ravinder Singh Makkar, Deputy Mayor S. Harpal Singh Channa, litterateur Dr. Swaraj Singh Sandhu and film artist S. Baninderjit Singh Bunny, he said that it was a matter of pride for him that the guests attended the function.
He said that Mohali city has made its mark on the world map but the Press Club needs its own building here. He said that the club has been running in a rented house for the last 27 years with its limited resources, without any government assistance.

Manjit Singh Chana (Senior Vice President), Mrs. Neelam Thakur and S. Vijay Pal (Vice Presidents), S. Rajiv Taneja (Treasurer), S. Vijay Kumar (Organizing Secretary), Dr. Ravinder Kaur and S. Sandeep Bindra (Joint Secretary)—was congratulated on assuming the new responsibility.
