2000 Desi Ghee Lamps Lit at Mata Pita Godham Mahatirth on Gopashtami
Mohali: The festival of Gopashtami was celebrated with pomp and show at Mata Pita Godham Mahatirth located on Banur-Ambala Road in Mohali. On this occasion, devotees expressed their devotion by lighting more than 2000 Desi Ghee Lamps. Hundreds of devotees from Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Chandigarh and Delhi participated in the fair and worshipped Gomata Devi.
On this occasion, Punjab Governor Gulab Chand Kataria was the chief guest. National Award winner and Bollywood actor and producer Vijay Tandon and Senior Vice President of All India Agarwal Conference (Haryana) Jagmohan Garg were present as special guests along with social worker Satyabhagwan Singla, President Sanatan Dharam Baikunth Dham Pradeep Goyal, Founder Planet Ayurved Dr Vikram Chauhan.
In the program, All India Gau Katha Vachak Shri Chandrakant and Bhajan singer Shri Hit Sharan Siddharth Bhaiya Ji mesmerized the devotees of Mother Gau with their stories and bhajans.
In the World Record Book (London), Mata Pita Godham Mahatirth Temple has been given the status of being the only temple in the world, which does not have an idol of any god or goddess in its temple, but by coming here with their parents, they and those whose parents are no longer in this world will be remembered in the form of light.
On this occasion, Mahatirth Trustees Bisheshwar Nath Sharma Amarjit Bansal, Surnesh Singla, Kashmiri Lal Gupta, Moman Ram Garg, Jaigopal Bansal, Deepak Mittal and Committee Members Surat Walia, Suresh Bansal, Subhash Singla, Pankaj Jaiswal, Hirendra Budhiraja, Kuldeep Thakur, Babu, Kapil etc. were present.
