Una, June 8: Seventeen newly elected members of the Una Zila Parishad took the oath of office on Monday during a dignified ceremony held at the Zila Parishad auditorium. Deputy Commissioner and District Election Officer (Panchayat) Jatin Lal administered the oath to all the members. Una MLA Satpal Singh Satti was also specially present on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, Deputy Commissioner Jatin Lal congratulated the newly elected members and stated that Panchayati Raj institutions form the strong foundation of democracy, and the Zila Parishad is a crucial body that shapes the direction of rural development and public welfare. He expressed hope that all members would discharge their duties with integrity, transparency, and dedication, prioritizing the public interest above all else, and actively contribute to the holistic development of the district.
The members who took the oath included Pawanjeet Singh (Mubarikpur Ward), Arun Lata (Kutheda Khairla), Sarban Singh (Thathal), Yograj (Sohari), Anita Devi (Lathiani), Chanchal Wala (Dhanet), Sumit Kumar Sharma (Takka), Anu Thakur (Chatada), Avinash Kumar (Dehlan Upper), Bindu Sharma (Raipur Sahoda), Jyoti Wala (Bathu), Sulinderpal Kaur (Dulaihar), Keval Singh (Haroli), Indu Wala (Panjawar), Pawan Kumar (Ambota), Aarti Devi (Chalet), and Gurmukh Singh (Bhanjal Lower).
District Panchayat Officer Shravan Kumar, other district administration officials, family members of the newly elected representatives, and other dignitaries were present at the ceremony.
