120th birth anniversary of immortal martyr Chandrashekhar Azad celebrated by planting saplings
Hansi:- Under the chairmanship of President Sardar Krishna Singh Ilawadi, on behalf of Shaheed Bhagat Singh Organization Committee, the 120th birth anniversary of revolutionary immortal martyr Chandrashekhar Azad was celebrated with reverence and enthusiasm by planting saplings in Shaheed Bhagat Singh Park and Shaheed Madan Lal Dhingra Park. On this occasion, the people present paid tribute to him by offering flowers on the picture of martyr Chandrashekhar Azad and made the atmosphere resonate with slogans of "Shaheed Chandrashekhar Azad Amar Rahe".
Chief guest Omprakash Munjal and special associate Subhash Mehta were present in the program.
In his address, the President of the Committee, Sardar Krishna Singh Ilawadi, said that Chandrashekhar Azad was born in Bhamra village of Madhya Pradesh. He, along with revolutionaries like Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev and Rajguru, took a pledge to free the country from British slavery and played an important role in the freedom struggle.
Kishori Nagpal said that Chandrashekhar Azad had taken a vow that "I am Azad and will remain Azad." He said that when the British soldiers surrounded him from all sides, to avoid arrest, he fired his last bullet on himself and made the supreme sacrifice for the motherland.
Manu Bhai Sachdeva (Dress Wale) said that if the martyrs had not sacrificed their lives, today the countrymen would not be breathing in independent India. He called upon the youth to follow the ideals of the martyrs and be inspired for national service.
On this occasion, many distinguished citizens including Kashmiri Lal Grover, Manu Bhai Sachdeva, Kishori Nagpal, Rohit, Rishi Sagar, Omprakash Munjal, Sunny Nayak, Subhash Mehta, Kamal, Rahul, Malkit, Shiva, Ajay Bhardwaj, Hamesh Khurana were present.
