10 accused arrested with hand grenade in Ludhiana
Ludhiana- Ludhiana police has claimed to have foiled a major terror plot. According to the information received, the grenade attack has been stopped due to the timely and smooth action taken by the police.
The officials said that ten accused have been arrested in this case. The search is on for their foreign-based handlers, who may have links with Pakistan. They said that a case has been registered under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act UPAP and Red Corner Notices have been issued against the employees sitting abroad.
Talking to the media, Police Commissioner Swapan Sharma said that on the basis of intelligence information, Ludhiana police had registered a case against Kuldeep Singh, Shekhar Singh, Ajay Singh (all residents of Muktsar Sahib) in Jodhewal police station under sections of the Explosives Act and BNS.
Considering the seriousness of the case, DCP. (Investigation) and DCP (Urban) Special teams were formed under the supervision of the Inspector General of Police (IGP). Initial investigation revealed that the accused were tasked by Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence through its foreign handlers to carry out a grenade attack in a densely populated area of ??Ludhiana with the aim of spreading terror.
During the investigation, the foreign-based masterminds identified included Ajay Ajay Malaysia, permanent resident of Sri Ganganagar, Rajasthan, Jass Behbal (currently in Malaysia), Pawandeep, resident of Malaysia, permanent resident of Sri Ganganagar, Rajasthan.
