Hoshiarpur- Rotary Eye Bank and Corneal Transplantation Society organized a function under the leadership of President Sanjeev Arora, in which Sagar, 6-year-old son of Mr. Balbir of village Janaudi, was honored, who could not see at all due to stone in one eye for the last 4 years.
After getting his free eye surgery done by the society, a function was organized at Lala Sundar Das Charitable Society for Deaf and Mute (near Bhangi Bridge). In which former Rajya Sabha member Mr. Avinash Rai Khanna was present as the chief guest and Mr. Gopichand Kapoor, President of Sundar Ashram was present as the special guest.
On this occasion, Mr. Avinash Rai Khanna praised the work of the society and said that the society has done a great service by getting this child's surgery done free of cost. Therefore, we all should fully cooperate with the society, so that people suffering from blindness can get light. On this occasion, Mr. Gopichand Kapoor said that life without light is a curse. Therefore, they appeal to all to contribute to this Mahayagya by donating eyes so that all the people suffering from blindness can get light.
President Sanjeev Arora and J.B. Bahl said that people suffering from corneal blindness get light by putting one eye because the eyes donated by one person bring light in the dark life of two people and Mr. Arora said that the family of the eye donor is honored on the occasion of his Bhog/Kriya so that other people can also take inspiration from this and fill the pledge form for eye donation.
Veena Chopra conducted the stage very well. On this occasion, Madanlal Mahajan, Veena Chopra, Jasvir Kanwar, Jagdish Agarwal, Ashwini Kumar Dutta, Surinder Dewan, Prem Taneja, Kamal Khurana, Tinku Narula, Amit Nagpal, Avinash Sood, Renu Kanwar, Naresh Kumar, Avtar Singh Kang, Tamanna and others were present.
