Kharar (Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar), July 08: Shri Harmandeep Singh Hans, Senior Superintendent of Police, District SAS Nagar, Shri Navneet Singh Mahal PPS. As part of the campaign against drug abuse and awareness about traffic rules under the guidelines given by Superintendent of Police Traffic, Karnail Singh PPS, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Traffic organized a special seminar at Chandigarh University, Ghandua on July 8 to make the NCC cadets aware about the importance of not taking drugs and following traffic rules. The main objective of this seminar was to make people aware about the ill effects of drugs, following traffic rules and importance of sports.
Along with this, the NCC cadets were also told that under section 199A of the Motor Vehicle Act, if a child below the age of 18 drives a vehicle, then his parents can be imprisoned for 3 years, fined up to Rs 25,000 and the person who gives the vehicle to a child below the age of 18 can also be imprisoned for 3 years or fined.
Along with this, people were also made aware about the Good Samaritan Award Scheme run by the government and it was told that if any person helps an accident victim, then he will be given Rs 2000 (under the Farishte Scheme) by the government. On this occasion, the officials of Chandigarh University, Ghandua expressed their gratitude to DSP Traffic for organizing the awareness seminar.
Deputy Superintendent of Police Traffic S. Karnail Singh PPS finally explained to the NCC cadets that you should also tell your family members about the learnings from this seminar and also make them aware about not driving after drinking alcohol and at high speed and motivate them to follow traffic rules.
