Haryana City Cleanliness Campaign-2025: PMDA CEO inspects Panchkula city.

Chandigarh, August 31 - Under the Haryana City Cleanliness Campaign launched by Haryana Chief Minister Shri Naib Singh Saini with the aim of making the state clean and beautiful, Panchkula Metropolitan Development Authority (PMDA) Chief Executive Officer Shri K. Makrand Pandurang visited Panchkula city today. During this, he inspected the infrastructure arrangements of the city and directed the concerned officials to remove all kinds of encroachments on the roadside within 3 days.

Chandigarh, August 31 - Under the Haryana City Cleanliness Campaign launched by Haryana Chief Minister Shri Naib Singh Saini with the aim of making the state clean and beautiful, Panchkula Metropolitan Development Authority (PMDA) Chief Executive Officer Shri K. Makrand Pandurang visited Panchkula city today. During this, he inspected the infrastructure arrangements of the city and directed the concerned officials to remove all kinds of encroachments on the roadside within 3 days.
Shri Pandurang inspected major roads, parks and market parking areas including Red Bishop Chowk, Shaheed Sandeep Sankla Chowk, Majri Chowk, Bus Stand, Agarsen Chauth, Amartax, Labour Chowk. During the inspection, he directed the officials of the Horticulture Department to prune the trees at Shaheed Sandeep Sankla Chowk. At the same time, he also directed the Superintendent of Police to explore the possibilities of installing red lights at Majri Chowk to keep the traffic flowing smoothly and to widen the slip/service road.

Ban the use of polythene and encourage the use of cloth bags
The CEO directed the Municipal Corporation officials to immediately clean the parking lots of Sector-11 and 14 if garbage is found. Mr. K. Makrand Pandurang said that regular cleaning of the parking lots of all sectors should be ensured so that the image of the city is not affected. Also, the ban on polythene bags should be strictly enforced and the citizens should be made aware to use cloth bags.
During the inspection of the industrial areas, the CEO directed the HSIIDC officials to immediately clean the rainwater drainage lines and road-lanes so that there is no waterlogging during the rains. Also, he directed the PMDA to prepare an estimate for the development of green belts transferred to it and to remove the bushes growing on both sides of the main roads. Expressing dissatisfaction over the broken road-lanes, he directed the officials to repair them quickly with high quality.
Instructions to carry out special repairs of the road from Industrial Area to Chandigarh Border
CEO Mr. K. Makrang Pandurang also inspected the road from Industrial Area to Chandigarh Border. He directed the HSIIDC officials to fill the potholes and carry out special repairs with immediate effect. During the inspection, the local citizens were informed that due to the narrowness of the road near the Chandigarh Border, there is congestion during peak hours. On this, he directed the HSIIDC officials to widen the road and find suitable solutions.
After this, the officials inspected the Sector 16 and 17 roads. Here, citizens complained about bushes growing in the vacant commercial plots of HSVP, on which the CEO ordered to remove the bushes within three days. He also directed to immediately repair the Labour Chowk and fill the empty spaces in the dividing grilles so that accidents can be avoided.
The CEO also visited Nirjhar Vatika Park and Amb Bagh (Mango Garden) Park and directed the Chief Engineer of PMDA to ensure proper cleaning, lighting arrangement and grass cutting.
Mr. K. Makrand Pandurang directed all the officials to work responsibly to make the cleanliness drive launched by the Chief Minister a success. He said that the progress of the works mentioned during the inspection today will be reviewed in the coming week.
