
Anti-Drug Awareness Programme organized at Lamrin Tech Skills University Punjab.
Hoshiarpur- Lamrin Tech Skills University Punjab organized an effective anti-drug awareness programme on the campus under the initiative of the National Service Scheme (NSS) unit. The aim of the programme was to make the students and faculty aware about the increasing abuse of drugs and the collective responsibility of the society to fight it.

Mr. Baltej Singh Pannu, Chief Spokesperson of the Punjab Government for the Anti-Drug Awareness Programme, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. The programme began with lighting the holy lamp, which symbolises the beginning of a purposeful and enlightening initiative.
In his address, Mr. Baltej Singh Pannu emphasised on the important role of teachers as nation builders, highlighting their responsibility in keeping young students away from the dangers of drugs. He said, “Education is the key to empowerment, and it requires patience and dedication.
He made a special mention of girls, saying that daughters are the pride of every family, and their upbringing and education should be done with great care as they shoulder the responsibility of two families.”
He also gave an inspiring analogy, saying that “we should adopt the punctuality of birds in our daily lives.” Urging the youth to leverage technology and social media for positive change, he encouraged the students to become active participants in eliminating drug abuse.
The event was also addressed by S. Gurdial Singh Buttar, President, Private Nursing College Association, Punjab, who shared his valuable insights and support for the cause.
The University Registrar Prof. Bhagwant Singh Satyal briefed the audience about the vision and initiatives of Lamrin Tech Skills University, especially its commitment to fight drug abuse.
The Chancellor of Lamrin Tech Skills University Punjab, Shri N.S. Riyat, reiterated the university’s association with the anti-drug campaign of the Punjab Government and assured full cooperation and enthusiastic support for future initiatives.
The event was organized under the supervision of Assistant Director, Youth Services, LTSU Punjab, Prof. Ratan Kaur. The key leaders of the university including Dr. Navneet Chopra (Dean Academic Affairs), Dr. Dhami (Executive Dean, Engineering), Vimal Manhotra (Chief Financial Officer), Dr. Ashutosh Sharma (Executive Dean, ), Prof. Narinder Bhumbla (PRO), and Gurpreet Saini (Manager IT) actively participated in the program along with other senior officers and students.
The program concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks by Engineer M.S. Atwal, who thanked all the dignitaries, organizers and attendees for their support and presence.
