Amritsar: On the occasion of World Heart Day, Livasa Hospital, Amritsar, on Friday announced the ‘Screen Your Heart, Save Your Heart’ initiative. During a press conference held today, the hospital’s Senior Cardiac Expert, Head of Cardiac Surgery Dr. (Prof.) Rakesh Sudan, Senior Consultant, Interventional Cardiology Dr. Anil Sharma, and Senior Consultant, Interventional Cardiology Dr. Arjun Ved Gupta, highlighted the importance of regular check-ups, recognising warning symptoms and seeking timely medical care.
They also discussed the changing pattern of cardiovascular diseases, major risk factors, warning signs and advancements in the field of cardiac care.
Dr. Rakesh Sudan said, “Heart disease is no longer limited to older people. Due to increasing risk factors such as diabetes, hypertension, obesity, stress and a sedentary lifestyle, timely screening has become extremely important. Regular health check-ups and early medical advice can help identify risks before they become serious.”
“Preventive cardiology begins with understanding your risk. People with diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, a smoking habit or a family history of heart disease should be particularly vigilant about regular heart check-ups. Timely diagnosis can make a major difference in treatment outcomes,” said Dr. Anil Sharma.
Dr. Arjun Ved Gupta said that cardiac care today is becoming more precise and patient-centric. Advanced imaging and interventional technologies help doctors assess coronary disease more accurately and formulate treatment plans accordingly.
Dr. Rajiv Kundra, Facility Director, Livasa Hospital Amritsar, informed that our objective is to provide accessible and advanced cardiac care with the support of experienced specialists, modern infrastructure and a strong multidisciplinary team.
