Ludhiana, 26 September:- Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Ludhiana and Cognisol Agtech Private Limited (‘Apni Kheti’) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen digital extension services and facilitate wider dissemination of scientific knowledge and technologies among farmers and livestock owners.
The MoU was signed by Dr. Ravinder Singh Grewal, Director of Extension Education, and Mr. Chamkaur Singh, Partnership and Alliance Lead, Cognisol Agtech Private Limited (‘Apni Kheti’), in the presence of Dr. Jatinder Pal Singh Gill, Vice-Chancellor.
Cognisol Agtech Pvt. Ltd. operates the farmer-centric digital platform ‘Apni Kheti’ and provides facilities such as expert advice, reliable information, authentic products and market linkages. More than 1.6 million farmers are connected with ‘Apni Kheti’ through its mobile application and social media.
The objective of the MoU is to provide digitally enabled solutions to farmers and livestock owners by improving access to reliable and scientific information related to livestock farming, poultry and fisheries. It will facilitate the dissemination of production technologies and innovations developed by the Veterinary University through the extensive digital outreach network of ‘Apni Kheti’. The collaboration will also promote knowledge exchange between university experts and farming communities through improved access to technical advisory, training and extension services.
Dr. Gill appreciated the initiative and emphasized the role of digital media in providing timely scientific information to farmers. He highlighted that the partnership would strengthen interaction between farmers and experts and facilitate joint research, extension and outreach-related activities in the fields of livestock farming, poultry and fisheries.
