Ludhiana 1 4 July 2026:- Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Ludhiana has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the 'Compound Livestock Feed Manufacturers Association of India' to conduct a scientific study on comprehensive evaluation of moisture content for technical stability and sensory acceptability of chicken sausage in India.
The agreement was signed by Dr. Swaran Singh Randhawa, Director Research and Col. Vinay Kumar, Executive Director, Feed Manufacturing Organization under the leadership of Dr. Jatinder Pal Singh Gill, Vice-Chancellor.
Highlighting the importance of the collaboration, Dr. Nitin Mehta said that the aim of the study is to conduct robust scientific research on the impact of moisture content on the quality, safety, nutritional value, technical stability, shelf-life and sensory acceptability of chicken sausage. The research is expected to lead to scientific standardization, enhance consumer confidence and provide evidence-based information.
Shri Rakesh Swamy, Group President-Corporate Affairs, Godrej Industries Group and Managing Committee Member of the organization commented that industry-academia collaboration plays a vital role in driving innovation and establishing science-based quality standards. He said that the results of the study will help increase the consumption of chicken as a safe, nutritious and cost-effective source of high-quality protein for the Indian citizens.
Congratulating both the organizations on the partnership, Dr. Jatinder Pal Singh Gill said that consumer confidence in food can be improved through scientific research. He expressed hope that this project will provide valuable insights to enhance product quality, promote innovation in poultry processing and contribute to future policy and operational frameworks.
This project will be carried out by a multidisciplinary research team of Dr. Nitin Mehta, Dr. Jaspal Singh Hundal, Dr. Udebir Chahal and Dr. Pawan Kumar in the Department of Livestock Product Technology.
