Chandigarh—The 56th Annual Religious Conference, Ram Navami Festival, and Birth Centenary Valedictory Ceremonies of the Shri Chaitanya Gaudiya Math (Sector 20) are being organized under the spiritual guidance of Acharya Shri Bhakti Vichar Vishnu Ji Maharaj, the President of the Akhil Bharatiya Shri Chaitanya Gaudiya Math Institute.
JP Gupta, the spokesperson for the Math Institute, stated that while delivering a lecture today on the subject "Vaishnavism: Beyond Caste and Social Hierarchy," Bhakti Vichar Vishnu Maharaj Ji affirmed that Vaishnavism is fundamentally a philosophy of life rooted in love, compassion, and equality—a philosophy entirely devoid of social discriminations such as caste distinctions and social stratification.
It regards everyone as equal on the path of *Bhakti* (devotion), wherein, in the eyes of God, it is not the devotee's caste but their spirit of surrender that holds primacy. It emphasizes humanistic values ??and brotherhood. In Vaishnava philosophy, God is omnipresent—residing within all beings—and therefore, no discrimination can be practiced against anyone.
This philosophy operates on the principle that "there is no religion greater than serving others, O Brother" (*Parhit saris dharam nahin bhai*), thereby prioritizing public service and humanism above all else. Saints maintain that a true Vaishnava is one who, having liberated themselves from the arrogance of caste identity, remains fully immersed in the devotion of Hari (God). Historically, the Vaishnava movement has established equality by integrating the marginalized sections of society into the path of devotion.
In essence, Vaishnavism embodies the eternal spirit of humanism—one that transcends the narrow walls of caste distinctions to foster a sentiment of universal welfare. Today, on the third day of the event, Mayor Saurabh Joshi and Punjab ADGP LK Yadav graced the occasion as the chief guests.
