Hoshiarpur:- On the occasion of the martyrdom day of the Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi, a solemn tribute ceremony was organized at the Tehsil office premises under the leadership of SDM Hoshiarpur, Gursimranjit Kaur. During the ceremony, the officers and employees present observed a two-minute silence to pay homage to Mahatma Gandhi and all the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the country's independence.
During the program, SDM Gursimranjit Kaur said that Mahatma Gandhi's entire life is a symbol of the high ideals of truth, non-violence, sacrifice, and service. She said that Gandhi's thoughts continue to guide society in the right direction, and young people should draw inspiration from his life and play an active role in nation-building. She urged all officers and employees to prioritize honesty, transparency, and sensitivity in their work.
On this occasion, the officers present also resolved to follow the principles of Mahatma Gandhi and gave a message of working together to maintain social harmony, brotherhood, and peace. At the end of the program, everyone took an oath to remain dedicated to their duties to strengthen the unity and integrity of the nation.
A large number of officers and employees from various departments of the Tehsil office were present at the tribute ceremony.
