Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, October 4:- Under the Chief Minister Pilgrimage Scheme being run by the Punjab Government to enable people of the state to visit religious and historical pilgrimage sites, MLA Kulwant Singh today flagged off three buses from the Mohali Assembly constituency. These buses departed from Phase-7, Phase-9 Mohali and Kambala village carrying senior citizen devotees. The devotees travelling in the buses were seen displaying great enthusiasm for the pilgrimage.
Speaking to journalists on the occasion, MLA Kulwant Singh said that the Punjab Government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, is continuously undertaking initiatives for public welfare. The Chief Minister Pilgrimage Scheme is also a part of this people-oriented approach, through which senior citizens and other devotees of the state are getting an opportunity to visit various religious and historical places across the country.
He said that due to various reasons, people are often unable to visit religious places despite having the desire to do so. The Chief Minister Pilgrimage Scheme is proving beneficial for such people. The government makes appropriate arrangements to provide the necessary facilities to devotees during the journey.
The MLA said that ensuring that the benefits of various public welfare schemes launched by the Punjab Government reach people at the grassroots level is a major priority of the government. He said that continuous work is also being carried out for the welfare of people in the fields of health, education, employment, electricity, transportation and other sectors.
He said that this initiative to facilitate people in visiting religious places reflects the government’s direct connect with the people. The government’s objective is to ensure that ordinary citizens can visit their preferred pilgrimage sites without any financial burden.
The devotees travelling in the three buses flagged off today thanked Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann for the initiative. The devotees said that through this effort by the government, their long-standing wish to visit pilgrimage sites is being fulfilled.
MLA Kulwant Singh said that the Chief Minister Pilgrimage Scheme, along with other public welfare schemes launched by the Punjab Government, is being continuously implemented, and efforts will continue in the future as well to provide maximum facilities to the people.
Extending his best wishes to all the devotees embarking on the pilgrimage, he appealed to them to maintain mutual brotherhood, harmony and discipline during the journey and make it a pleasant experience.
On the occasion, Chief Minister Pilgrimage Scheme Assembly Constituency Coordinator Phoolraj Singh, senior Aam Aadmi Party leaders Kuldeep Singh Samana, Harwinder Kaur Lang, Manmohan Singh Lang, Vikram Singh Sandhu, Baljinder Singh Kambala, Avtar Singh, Gurmukh Singh, Sarpanch Kambala, Ramanpreet Kaur Kumbhra, Councillor, Harmesh Singh Kumbhra, Darshan Singh Mator, Tarlochan Singh Mator, Chairman Akbinder Singh Gosal, Harpal Singh Brar, Jaspal Singh Mator and Prabjit Singh Boparai were also present.
