Ambala, June 29:- The 628th Parkash Purab (birth anniversary) of the revered Sant Kabir Das ji was celebrated with great devotion and enthusiasm at Sri Guru Granth Sahib Vidya Kendra Sewa Samiti (Regd.), Village Behbalpur, District Ambala. The program began with the chanting of the name of God (Ram Naam) by the children, which left a deep impression on the congregation.
On this occasion, Katha Vachak Harpreet Singh Nisana Wali (Buddha Dal Jathedar) shed light on the life, teachings, and contributions of Sant Kabir Das ji towards social reform. He shared that Sant Kabir Das ji was born in 1398 AD (Bikrami Samvat 1455) in Lahartara, Kashi (Uttar Pradesh). His parents' names were Neeru and Neema, his wife's name was Loi, his son's name was Kamal, and his daughter's name was Kamli. His Guru was Swami Ramanand ji.
He stated that during his time, Sant Kabir Das ji opposed religious fanaticism, hypocrisy, and outward rituals, while propagating the message of humanity, equality, truth, love, and devotion to the Almighty. He inspired all people to rise above discrimination based on caste and class, to remember God with a pure heart, and to consider the service of humanity as the highest religion. He emphasized that the human body created by God must be respected, and true peace and salvation can only be attained by living one's life according to the teachings of the Guru.
The institution continues to receive special support and guidance from Chairman Baba Thakur Singh for its sewa (service) and development works. Committee members appreciated his contribution and wished him good health and a long life. Prominent among those present on the occasion were Chief Sewadar Bibi Bhupinder Kaur, Baljit Singh Chhadbar, Sukhwinder Singh Behbalpur, Secretary Maha Singh Patiala, Budh Singh Manimajra, Swaroop Singh Barola, Sewadar Jagtarian Singh, Gurcharan Singh Mardon Sahib, Sarpanch Bibi Amarjit Kaur, along with a large number of sewadars and devotees.
