Hoshiarpur, September 05:- In the Shri Bhaktamal Katha being held since 3:00 PM under the auspices of Shyam Sunder Makhija Ji at Shaheed Madan Lal Dhingra Community Centre, national saint Revered Shri Gaurdas Ji Maharaj from Vrindavan narrated the wonderful and beautiful divine character of Surdas Ji. He shared that Surdas Ji was born in Sirohi village near Delhi.
He was blind from birth. He possessed immense knowledge of astrology and sang devotional hymns with deep devotion. At the tender age of six, he left his home in pursuit of God. He stayed in a village for nearly 12 years, where locals sought his guidance, and he resolved their problems through astrology.
Consequently, a large ashram was established there. However, realizing that his life was solely meant for divine attainment, he left the ashram immediately and moved to Runakta village near Agra to devote himself entirely to worship.
