Mahilpur/Daljit Ajnoha:- Shiromani Akali Dal president and former Punjab Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal visited the residence of Shiromani Akali Dal Trade Wing state general secretary Dharminder Kumar Tony on Sunday and spent considerable time with his family. On the occasion, Dharminder Kumar Tony and his family warmly welcomed Sukhbir Singh Badal.
Speaking to the media, Shiromani Akali Dal president and former Punjab Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal appealed to the people to support the regional party Shiromani Akali Dal to bring Punjab out of its present deteriorating situation. He said only five months were left for the state elections, which, he said, would be the best way to make Punjab prosperous again.
He said only five months remained in the tenure of the present Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government as well. Targeting the Congress and Aam Aadmi Party governments that had been in power over the past decade, he said Punjab’s situation had continuously deteriorated during this period. He said the law-and-order situation in the state was poor, drugs were rampant, hooliganism was increasing, and an atmosphere of fear and terror had developed because of gangsters.
Sukhbir Badal attacked national parties, saying that their thinking was not pro-Punjab and that they followed the orders of their bosses sitting in Delhi. The Akali Dal president recalled the tenure of former Chief Minister the late Parkash Singh Badal and said that during the Akali Dal government, Punjab witnessed an era of peace, brotherhood and development.
Badal said that if Punjab was to be saved, the people should once again bring the Akali Dal to power. He said the Akali Dal was the only party that wanted development in both villages and cities. During the Akali Dal government, he said, as many bridges and roads were built in Punjab as had never been built before. He said the Akali Dal needed to return to power for the development of cities because the Akali Dal was the true heir of Punjab.
He said the Akali Dal had always been a party working in the interests of the people. Sukhbir Badal said the broom had ruined Punjab and that hooliganism had increased to such an extent that it had become difficult for the common man to make a living. He claimed that the people of Punjab were now ready to remove the present government from power.
He said that if the Akali Dal government was formed in the coming period, strict action would be taken against those responsible. He assured Punjabis that if the Akali Dal came to power, it would bring back the old golden days of Punjab.
On the occasion, Shiromani Akali Dal Industry Wing district president Harvinder Singh Ahluwalia, Ramesh Chandra, Paras Sahdev, Gaurav Koda, Amit Verma, Madhu Bala, Roshan Lal Mintu, Lucky Rajput, Dolly Koda, Aminder Kaur, Amit Verma, Inderjit Singh Dhillon, Ranjit Kaur Dhillon and others were present.
