Haroli/Una, 11 September (Rajveer Chopra):- Under the Nasha Mukt Himachal and Chitta-Free Campaign, an awareness programme was organised at Government College Haroli. During the programme, the team of Eklavya Kala Manch, First India Reserve Battalion, Bangarh, presented an impactful street play with the objective of making students aware of the harmful effects of drug abuse.
Through the street play, the artists effectively highlighted the growing trend of drug abuse, particularly the social, mental and physical harms caused by deadly drugs such as chitta. Through the play, the youth were motivated to stay away from drugs and to work towards making their peers and society drug-free as well.
The team members appealed to the students to themselves stay away from the evil of drug abuse and also create awareness among people around them. They said that the goal of creating a drug-free and chitta-free society can be achieved only through the active participation of the youth.
Acting Principal of the college, Prof. R.S. Dadwal, expressed his gratitude to the team of Battalion One, Bankhandi, and said that such awareness programmes play an important role in sensitising the youth against drug abuse. Students of the college, along with Dr. Nidhi Sharma, In-charge of the Nasha Mukti Cell, Dr. Shakuntala Rana, NSS In-charge, and other members participated enthusiastically in the programme. On this occasion, Satish Kumar, Yogesh Kumar, Arvind Kaushal, Shiv Kumar, Kajal and other members were present on behalf of Eklavya Kala Manch, First India Reserve Battalion, Bangarh.
