Derabassi (Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar), 26th August, 2026:- Under special awareness campaign being run by Punjab Government dedicated to 650th Prakash Purab of Sri Guru Ravidas Ji Maharaj, yesterday special documentary film related to life, teachings and message of social equality of Sri Guru Ravidas Ji Maharaj was shown through LED screen at villages Dafarpur, Kheri and Pandwala of Derabassi block.
Giving information in this regard, Deputy Commissioner SAS Nagar Mrs. Komal Mittal said that this special documentary dedicated to 650th Prakash Purab of Sri Guru Ravidas Ji Maharaj by Punjab Government is being shown in different villages and areas, so that maximum people can get to know about life of Sri Guru Ravidas Ji Maharaj and message of social equality, communal harmony, humanity and universal brotherhood given by him.
She said that teachings of Sri Guru Ravidas Ji Maharaj even today inspire society to walk on path of truth, hard work, equality and mutual brotherhood. She said that aim of such awareness programmes is to connect young generation with life and teachings of great saints and Guru Sahibans.
Deputy Commissioner said that during documentary film, residents of villages participated in large numbers and watched film with great reverence and enthusiasm. She said that as per instructions of Punjab Government, this campaign will be continued by district administration in different villages of district.
