Hoshiarpur/Daljit Ajnoha:- Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Election Officer Ashika Jain said that the schedule for special camps to be held at all polling booths in the district under the Special Summary Revision-2026 has been partially revised. The special camps will now be held on October 24, 2026, from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Earlier, these camps were scheduled for October 25 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

She said that, in accordance with the instructions issued by the Chief Electoral Officer, Punjab, all concerned officials have been directed to ensure compliance with the revised schedule. All Booth Level Officers (BLOs) in the district have been instructed to remain present at their respective polling booths during the specified hours and receive claims and objections relating to the electoral rolls. BLO supervisors have also been asked to provide the necessary assistance to BLOs during the camps.

The Deputy Commissioner said that the camps would be monitored by the concerned officials. At the Assembly constituency level, inspections of polling booths would be ensured with the assistance of the concerned Assistant Electoral Registration Officers.

She has directed the heads of the concerned schools and offices to keep their institutions open on October 24 during the special camps wherever polling booths have been established, and to provide BLOs with the necessary furniture and other facilities so that voters do not face any inconvenience.

Ashika Jain said that the earlier instructions to establish help desks at the Assembly constituency level for 10 days from October 19 to facilitate voters in obtaining information related to their votes would remain in force. Through these help desks, voters would be able to check the status of their votes.

She also directed the concerned officials to provide weekly lists of claims and objections received during the Special Summary Revision to all recognised political parties. In addition, proposals regarding the rationalisation of polling stations must be submitted within the prescribed time frame, and all work related to the revision process must be completed in accordance with the stipulated guidelines.

The Deputy Commissioner appealed to voters in the district to visit their respective polling booths during the special camps and check their names and other details in the electoral rolls. If required, they should submit claims or objections in accordance with the prescribed procedure.
