Chandigarh, March 27:- The Haryana Government has decided to launch a week-long special campaign from April 1 to April 8, 2026 to sort out old office records and remove unnecessary and useless office furniture in all government departments and offices of the state.
As per the instructions issued by Chief Secretary Shri Anurag Rastogi, this campaign will be implemented in all government offices, affiliated and subordinate offices of the state. Its objective is to streamline record management and improve administrative efficiency.
All Administrative Secretaries, Heads of Departments, Managing Directors of Boards and Corporations, Divisional Commissioners, Deputy Commissioners and Registrars of Universities have been instructed to ensure strict compliance with the campaign guidelines.
Under this initiative, old and irrelevant records will be identified and disposed of properly as per the prescribed rules and guidelines. Similarly, unused office furniture will also be removed in a systematic manner.
The officers have been directed to follow the Records Management and Records Preservation Schedule (Chapter-11) and ensure action as per the procedures available on the official website of the Chief Secretary, Haryana. Detailed guidelines have also been shared for the smooth conduct of the campaign.
This initiative will reduce unnecessary equipment in government offices, make the workplace more orderly and help in making the administrative functioning more effective.
