Nawanshahr (Des Raj Bali):- Sikh National College, Banga, delivered an outstanding performance at the D-Zone Zonal Youth Festival organised by Guru Nanak Dev University, winning the overall championship trophy for the sixth consecutive year and achieving a historic milestone. The college scored a total of 100 points through excellent performances in various artistic, musical, theatrical and literary competitions.

This proud achievement was made possible under the leadership of the college Principal, Dr. Indu Ratti. The students showcased their talent in various competitions under the guidance and encouragement of Dean, Cultural Affairs, Dr. Gurwinder Singh, and Assistant Dean/Librarian Manmant Singh.

In the fine arts competitions, collage, phulkari and painting secured first positions, cartooning and poster-making won second positions, while clay modelling secured third position.

In the music competitions, classical vocal solo secured first position. Group song, shabad/bhajan, song, ghazal and Western group song won second positions, while kavishri, Western vocal solo and Western instrumental solo secured third positions.

In the theatre competitions, skit secured first position, mime won second position and mimicry secured third position.

Similarly, in the literary competitions, the college secured first positions in Punjabi and English speech. Its students also won first positions in Punjabi and English debate, while securing third position in the poetry competition.

With these outstanding achievements, Sikh National College, Banga, scored 100 points and won the D-Zone Zonal Youth Festival’s overall championship for the sixth consecutive year. This achievement reflects the college’s consistent excellence in art, literature, music and cultural activities.

Congratulating all the students, Dean of Cultural Affairs Dr. Gurwinder Singh, Assistant Dean/Librarian Manmant Singh, and the entire staff on this historic victory, Principal Dr. Indu Ratti also congratulated Prof. Dil Nawaz (In-charge, Fine Arts), Prof. Manmant Singh (In-charge, Music), Prof. Munish Sandhir (In-charge, Theatre) and Dr. Nirmaljit Kaur (In-charge, Literary Activities). She said the victory was the result of the students’ hard work, the teachers’ able guidance and the college’s commitment to art and culture. She added that it was a matter of pride for the college that its students had been showcasing their talent brilliantly at youth festivals for six consecutive years.

She said that this was not merely a trophy but a symbol of Sikh National College, Banga’s sustained hard work, creativity and commitment to preserving its cultural heritage.
