Mohali, Punjab, October 4 (Jagmeet Ghuman):- A Service Honour Ceremony and the 178th monthly bhandara were organised on Sunday at Mata-Pita Godham Mahatirth, dedicated to the message of honouring parents and serving cows, located on Banur-Ambala Road, village Khallaur, district Mohali. A large number of devotees, cow devotees and social workers from distant areas, including Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Haryana, Punjab and the Tricity, participated in the programme. Shri Mahant Atmaram Ji attended the ceremony as the chief guest, Baba Somnath Ji Sidhu (Kulle Wali Sarkar) as the special guest, while Deepak Bhardwaj Ji (bhajan singer) from Rajpura attended along with his team.
During the ceremony, distinguished persons who have made outstanding contributions in the fields of social service, values, humanity and public welfare were honoured with the Service Honour. Those honoured included Smt. Subina Anand Ji, Principal (Baby Convent School); Smt. Swarn Sharma Ji, Principal (Stellar International School); Shri Surendra Kumar Singla (poet, cow devotee and social worker); Professor Sukhwinder Singh Sagar (Principal, Bholath College, Kapurthala); and Shri Govind Singh Bhatia (retired principal and environmentalist). All the dignitaries described founder Gauchar Das Gyan Ji as an ideal person dedicated to society, Gau Mata and parents, and also appreciated his entire committee. They also deeply appreciated the founder’s unique idea of honouring parents and Gau Mata.
On the occasion, devotees served Gau Mata by feeding the cows green fodder and sweet porridge. During bhajan-kirtan and satsang, the entire premises became devotional with chants of “Jai Mata.” Bhajan singer Shri Deepak Bhardwaj Ji enthralled the devotees with his melodious bhajans.
During the programme, Dr. Arun Bector conducted a medical check-up of around 50 persons at the Acupressure and Nature Care camp. Devotees and social workers participated enthusiastically in the camp. Thereafter, a large number of devotees partook of prasad at the grand bhandara.
The institution’s founder Shri Gauchar Das Gyan Ji, trustees and executive members are continuously working to take the institution’s core message of “respect parents in every home and love Gau Mata” to society. Through the world’s first Mata-Pita Temple, which is under construction at Mata-Pita Godham Mahatirth, people are also being given the message to see the divine form in their parents and honour them.
