Chandigarh, October 31 - National Unity Day was celebrated in Fatehabad on Friday on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Iron Man Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. The Run for Unity organized at the District Headquarters was inaugurated by Haryana Chief Minister Shri Naib Singh Saini by flagging off the event from the Panchayat Bhawan. On this occasion, the Chief Minister showered flowers on the participants and he himself joined the run and gave the message of unity.
About 30 thousand participants participated in the run organized till MM College Ground. Youth, women, sportsmen, students, social workers and public representatives participated enthusiastically with the tricolor in their hands. The entire city resonated with the slogans of one India, magnificent India.
National Unity Day-A symbol of the integrity of the country--
Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini said in his address that National Unity Day is a day to strengthen the spirit of our nation. Today we are celebrating the 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel ji. The resolve, courage and vision with which the Iron Man Patel united India are still a source of inspiration today. Remembering Sardar Patel, the Chief Minister extended heartfelt greetings to all the people of Haryana on National Unity Day.
Run for Unity-A symbolic sacrifice to unite the nation--
Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini said that today's run is not just a physical activity but a symbol of the unity, integrity and discipline of the nation. Lakhs of citizens in all districts of Haryana are becoming a part of this national resolve. This is an initiative towards realizing the vision of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi of One India, Magnificent India. The Chief Minister further said that a strong nation is built with disciplined, responsible and aware citizens. This race teaches us tolerance, discipline and collectivity.
The Chief Minister said that the concept that Sardar Patel started after Independence, the Prime Minister has taken forward by abrogating Articles 370 and 35C from Jammu and Kashmir, once again strengthening the unity and integrity of the country. He said that this decision was in line with the spirit of Sardar Patel, one nation, one constitution, one tricolour. The Chief Minister described this step as a historic decision that further strengthens the unity of India and said that it is a symbol of the spirit of Akhand Bharat that Patel had dreamed of.
The enthusiasm and patriotic spirit shown by the people of Fatehabad--
Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini said that the people present at the program in Fatehabad are proof that Sardar Patel's dream of one India is still alive in the hearts of every citizen. He said that our diversity is our real strength. Despite having different languages, traditions and cultures, we are all Indians. Although our bodies are many, our minds are one. In his address to the youth, he said that the new generation will have to carry the torch of unity and integrity of the country.
Sardar Patel-Builder of National Unity--
The Chief Minister said that Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel can be called the builder of India's unity in the true sense. After independence, while he was the Home Minister, he created a united India by uniting 562 princely states. The Chief Minister said that today's India is strong and united due to their efforts.

Chief Minister Shri Naib Singh Saini, while extending advance greetings on Haryana Day (November 1), said that the people of Haryana are setting an example across the country on the strength of their hard work, sacrifice and unity. He said that the soil of Haryana has the fragrance of enthusiasm, hard work and unity. Moving forward with this spirit is a true tribute to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.
